5 Free Favorite Online Tools & Websites for Nutritionists

Updated: Dec 15, 2025

Here are my top 5 FREE websites and online tools I'd recommend to any nutrition professional.

Mytavin is a Nutrition Depletion Checker website. This is a great tool to look up clients medications and check for nutrient deficiencies. Information is graded an A through D based on the evidence in clinical trials.  There are links to the original studies. You can feel confident with the information because it was fully updated by a team of medical professionals. It’s free to use.

Integrative Pro (Interactive Therapeutic) is a Drug Nutrient interactive checker website that focuses on major interactions.   It is not as detailed as Natmed Pro but does have a good look at the top issues.

My favorite paid version of these tools is Natmed Pro https://naturalmedicines.therapeuticresearch.com/Home/ND .  We offer a membership to this resource through our Mentorship and SPE program for CNS Candidates.

  1. Linus Pauling Institute - https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic

Linus Pauling Institute is a great free resource for nutrition professionals. It is a Micronutrient Information Center where you can deep dive into different nutrients. This has good scientific information about micronutrients, interactions, dosing, RDA’s and physiological functions in the body. This would be  a good place to study for your exam!

  1. Anna’s Archives - https://annas-archive.org/

Anna’s Archive helps you get behind the paywall for scientific articles.  It is the largest open access library in the world!  In my previous article I mentioned sci-hub, this website is similar but is controversial.  Anna’s Archives is designed to preserve information and make it accessible to the lay public.  It does not house the content to data crawls the internet similar to Google.  Last I checked it had 61,344,044 books and 95,527,824 paper resources to choose from.

Lab door is an independent company that tests the quality and accuracy of supplements. They determine whether the ingredients are accurate as labeled and if contaminants are present. Products are then graded and ranked. This site is helpful for you to ensure that your supplement recommendations are effective and safe for clients.

My favorite paid version of this resource is Consumer labs which is approx $70 / year - https://www.consumerlabs.com/ .  I have a membership to Consumer labs.  Their product reviews are much more comprehensive and extensive.

*BONUS free sites*

Cronometer - Cronometer

Cronometer is a dietary analysis app that includes micronutrient tracking as well as macronutrient tracking. You or your client can input their daily food intake and receive a detailed breakdown of macro and micronutrients. Biometrics, health data, and exercise can be tracked as well, and it can be used online or with an app. This is a good resource to determine the nutrients your clients consume, track nutrient goals and set goals with clients who like the structure.

Trying to figure out what foods and plants are high in a certain phytochemical? I.e. Lycopene, ellagic acid, chlorophyll, etc. Expand your knowledge of the benefits of various plant derived antioxidants and where to find them in nature!

Two favorite additional resources that are $$ paid

Institute of Functional Medicine - https://www.ifm.org/

IFM offers great handouts and resources for meal plans, questionnaires, informational pages etc. that can be used in practice.

Examine website can search conditions and interventions and includes studies for additional research.
